Labasa Farm Fresh is an agro-processing, packing and export company working with hundreds of farming households across Vanua Levu, bringing Fijian vegetables to families overseas.
About us
Labasa Farm Fresh (Fiji) Limited began operations in 2011 in Labasa, the largest town on Vanua Levu. We are the only major exporter of both cultivated and non-cultivated crops permanently based on the island, which means our buyers, our packhouse and our farmers are all in the same place.
Labasa has long been a sugarcane town. As global raw sugar prices fell, cane farming households needed other ways to earn. We purchase produce directly from farms across the island, giving growers a steady market for what they harvest.
Everything is graded, prepared, snap-frozen and packed under our own roof by a local team. Our full production is packed under the Vinay's label for Vinay's Food, which distributes it across Australia, so Fijian families there can buy the food they grew up with.
What we do
Multiple production lines, cold storage on site, and our own vehicles for collection and delivery.

Produce is cleaned, peeled, cut, weighed and sealed on stainless benches by a trained local team working to food-safety and hygiene standards.
An on-site cooler room and freezer hold quality from the moment produce arrives, and our refrigerated truck keeps the chain unbroken all the way to the port.
Produce
Fijian vegetables, frozen at peak freshness and packed in retail sizes under the Vinay's label.
Impact
With support from the Market Development Facility, we installed a cooler room and freezer, brought on a field manager and expanded our processing capacity. That let us purchase from more farms, including crops that previously had nowhere to go.
Because that income comes into the home, and women largely decide how it is spent, the money has gone into children's schooling, better food and improved housing.
Figures from Stories of Significant Change: Labasa Farm Fresh, published by the Market Development Facility (MDF), which also records seven additional people employed and FJD 105,000 earned by farmers from non-cultivated crops such as breadfruit and jackfruit alone.
Our people
Labasa Farm Fresh is run by the Reddy family and staffed almost entirely from the surrounding community, offering steady year-round work in a town where that is hard to come by.
